My Travel Essentials

WOW, y'all. Tomorrow I trade Georgia humidity for Seattle coastal winds and swap pine trees for evergreens. I can't believe the day is already here.
For those of you who don't know, this post was inspired by the fact that I am spending just under two months in Seattle, Washington. My amazing cousins are taking me in and I will be both working a part-time job and interning for a photo-press company. Jack will be accompanying me and he will have a part-time job as well and will stay with some of my other cousins just down the street.
Tomorrow, we will sleep very little if at all and wake up at 3 am for our flight. We'll arrive in Seattle a little after two, and thus begins our summer in the city. We have lots planned as far as projects, side trips, hikes, etc. so make sure to stay up-to-date with us on Instagram.
So, without further ado, take a peek inside my luggage to find out my absolute favorite travel essentials.

What exactly makes the cut to stay right by my side during a plane ride? Well, let me tell you.
- A deck of cards. “Everyone should be able to do one card trick, tell two jokes, and recite three poems, in case they are ever trapped in an elevator." Ever since I heard this quote by one of my favorite authors, Lemony Snicket, I took the whole deck of cards thing very seriously and carry some wherever I go. You never know when you have time for a little Gin Rummy! Still working on the three poems thing though. - A good book. This one is a must. With my busy schedule, I hardly find any time to read so I make it a point to always read while flying. I'm in the middle of One Flew Over the Coocoo's Nest by Jack Nicholson and really want to start Everybody, Always by Bob Goff.- A S'well bottle. It's a rarity when you catch me WITHOUT my S'well bottle. This thing will keep your water cold all day and is a must for travel. Just make sure it's empty when you arrive at the airport and fill it up when you get to your gate. - A good pair of headphones. They may not look as fancy as a pair of Beats, but these bad boys sound just as good. My dad discovered Ausdom headphones on Amazon and man, not only do they sound amazing, but they're affordable too! Check 'em out.

- Lavender essential oil. Ever since my grandma introduced me to essential oils, I have been hooked. I use lavender before bedtime by putting it on my pillow, wrists, and temples. It helps me relax and get to sleep. - LBA cooling mineral mist. This spray by Little Barn Apothecary is great to use when it's hot outside. It both cools and hydrates your skin and smells AMAZING! I spray this on before bed as well.

DANI Naturals has become my new favorite brand of hair products, lotions, and scrubs for traveling.
This women-owned company creates natural and cruelty-free bath + body products. All ingredients are thoughtfully selected and most of their products are also organic! - Passion Fruit Shampoo + Conditioner: A perfectly petit and travel-sized set to keep your hair smelling good and staying fresh.
- Coconut Hibiscus Candle: This mini tin candle is perfect for adding a sweet scent to any hotel room, Air BNB, or another method of stay.
- Lemongrass Lavender Body Wash + Lotion: I don't think there's any better combo than these two scents. Lather up with this amazing soap and then let the lotion nourish your skin, no matter what condition it's in!
- Bamboo Bergamot Mineral Soak: Pamper yourself with this incredible mineral soak that not only softens the skin, but helps relax sore muscles and unwind your mind after a long day.

It's no picnic packing for two months in one suitcase.
Here's what's definitely coming with me:
- Space saver storage bags: I ordered these bags to help me stuff as much as I could into my little pink suitcase and so far, they have proven worthy of purchase.
- Comfy Sandals: These sandals from Target are my new obsession! Not only are they trendy and cute, but they are so versatile and comfortable. grab them in stores or online for 20% off!
- Passport Cover and Luggage Tag Set: Add a little feminine fun to your suitcase and passport by adding a cover and tag! I couldn't find the one I received as a gift from Franchesca's, but I linked a super cute one on Amazon!
